Melanie Jennings' award-winning fiction has appeared in
numerous publications including

Crab Creek Review, Redwood Coast Review,

Oregon Literary Review. Her poetry has appeared in In
the Grove
and the Texas Poetry Calendar 2004, and
her freelance writing in
Dagger, Willamette Week,
Writers Monthly,
and ChickLit. Her short story
collection,
My Ass is Taking Over the World and
Other Love Stories
, was a semifinalist for the Hudson
Prize, a national contest sponsored by Black Lawrence
Press.

She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her
husband and mini-Poodle-mix, Pickle.
Melanie has been awarded fellowships from the
Espy Foundation, Jentel, and the Community of
Writers at Squaw Valley. She earned an MFA
from Mills College and a doctorate in American
Literature from UC San Diego.
